FAQs

Golf assessment questions

Still unsure? Call 774-436-5558 and we'll talk it through — no front desk, you'll reach your therapist.

What is a TPI-style golf assessment?
It is a structured physical screen of the joints and muscles the golf swing depends on — hips, thoracic spine, shoulders, wrists, ankles and core control. Each test is scored, then matched against your swing so we know which restrictions are actually costing you shots.
Do I need to be in pain to get screened?
No. Most golfers who book a screen are not injured — they want more speed, more consistency, or to stay ahead of the aches that show up late in a round. The screen is just as useful as a baseline.
How long does the assessment take?
A full 60 minutes, one-on-one with your physical therapist. That includes the movement screen, a video swing review, hands-on treatment where it is indicated, and your written plan.
What should I bring or wear?
Athletic clothing you can move and rotate in, your golf shoes if you have them, and a mid-iron plus your driver. We have space and mats to swing indoors.
Will you replace my swing coach?
Never. We handle the body; your coach handles the swing. With your permission we send your coach a short summary of what your body can and cannot do so their lessons stick.
Do you take insurance for the screen?
The golf movement screen is a wellness/performance service and is typically self-pay. If the screen uncovers an injury that needs rehab, that care can often be billed through your plan — we will walk you through the cost before anything starts.
