Performance training

Train the swing your screen says you're capable of.

Golf-specific strength, mobility and rotational power — programmed and coached by the physical therapist who screened you.

Outcomes

What training changes

Speed

More clubhead speed

Rotational power and ground-force work that adds distance without borrowing it from your back.

18

Holes that feel the same

Endurance built so your swing on the closing stretch looks like your swing on the first tee.

Fewer

Setbacks and layoffs

Durability training around your history, so a good season doesn't end in the treatment room.

The program

Four phases, built in order

Skipping straight to speed work is how golfers get hurt. We earn each phase, and re-test before moving on.

Phase 1

Restore

Weeks 1–3

Open the restrictions found in your screen and rebuild control of the positions your swing needs.

Phase 2

Strengthen

Weeks 4–7

Build hip, trunk and grip strength so new range is supported under load, not just available.

Phase 3

Power

Weeks 8–11

Rotational medicine ball work, jumps and overspeed training to convert strength into clubhead speed.

Phase 4

Sustain

In-season

A lower-volume maintenance plan that keeps your gains through a full season of golf.

Inside a session

What an hour looks like

  • Mobility work aimed at your specific restrictions
  • Hip and trunk strength — split stance, hinge, carry
  • Rotational medicine ball throws for sequencing and speed
  • Ground-force and jump work to build a stronger push off the turf
  • Grip and forearm training for control through impact
  • Re-test days every four weeks to prove the change

FAQs

Performance training questions

Still unsure? Call 774-436-5558 and we'll talk it through — no front desk, you'll reach your therapist.

Do I need an assessment before I start training?
Yes. Every program is built off your movement screen so we load what's safe and train what's actually limiting you. If you've been screened elsewhere recently, bring the results and we'll review them.
How often should I train?
Most golfers train once or twice a week with us and do a short home program on two other days. In-season we drop the volume and protect your rounds; off-season we push strength and speed.
Will lifting make me slower or tighter?
The opposite, when it's programmed for golf. We train rotational power, ground force and mobility together — strength work is paired with the range of motion you need to use it.
Can I train here if I'm currently injured?
Yes. Because your therapist writes and supervises the program, we can train around an injury while rehabbing it instead of putting you on the shelf for eight weeks.
How long before I see more clubhead speed?
Golfers who train consistently usually feel better rotation within 3–4 weeks and see measurable speed change over an 8–12 week block. Results depend on your starting point and consistency.
Is performance training covered by insurance?
Performance training is a self-pay service. Rehab for a diagnosed injury can often be billed through your plan — we'll tell you which bucket you're in before you commit.
